Instead of living each day in pain, this professional athlete, fitness center owner, personal trainer and mom is living life on her terms. Thanks to Adena, she’s back to doing the things she enjoys.

As a competitive bench presser and the owner of the Body Zone Fitness Center, Tina Rinehart has always led an active and athletic lifestyle. But when she injured her knee, everyday activities suddenly became painful experiences. Simple tasks, like walking up stairs, getting out of bed, working with clients and even playing with her daughter, took a toll.

“It affected my job. I couldn’t plant my foot on the ground, couldn’t use my knee. I couldn’t show people how to use the equipment,” said Rinehart.

The idea of using pain medications for the rest of her life was out of the question. So she made a decision to have her knee replaced. She located a physician in Columbus, but her experience didn’t go well. She actually got worse instead of getting better.

Then a client recommended Dr. Brian Cohen at Adena’s Bone and Joint Center. Tina remembers the first visit and feeling comfortable and confident, and appreciative of the physician’s honesty and his expectations.

Dr. Cohen performed a total knee replacement in 2005, which enabled Tina to return to the life she knew and loved. She could stand, jog, compete and, more importantly, play softball with her daughter.
