Patients and visitors to the Adena Greenfield Medical Center can expect a full range of medical services as well as highly experienced and respected physicians.
Emergency
No one plans to be sick or to get hurt. So we provide Emergency Services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Emergency Department is equipped to handle most emergencies – and our affiliation with Adena Medical Center means that access to specialists and regional-level care is readily available.
Adena Health System's relationships with tertiary-care providers’ means patients with major trauma or other high-intensity needs can be transported via helicopter or ambulance to those centers in Cincinnati, Columbus or Dayton.

A more intense program available for area employers is on-site physical rehabilitation. Therapists provide treatment and education to employees under physician supervision on-site. This is a positive and beneficial experience for both the patient and therapist. Being on-site allows the therapist to experience and observe firsthand what occurs in the patient’s daily job activities. The patient is also away from his/her job for a shorter period of time because travel has been eliminated.
Medical-Surgical Inpatient Unit
Our inpatient unit serves general adult acute care with an average length of stay of 3.5 days. We administer care primarily for those individuals suffering from the following diagnoses – pneumonia, congestive heart failure, diabetes, stroke, and COPD.
Through our affiliation with Adena Health System, we are able to offer residents of the Greenfield area access to higher-intensity services such as the Intensive/Cardiac Care Unit and cardiac telemetry unit, as well as specialized services such as maternity and pediatrics.
Surgical Services
Our Surgical Department provides pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing any surgical procedure typically done on an outpatient basis including general surgery, gynecological surgery, ENT surgery and endoscopic procedures, including routine colonoscopies.
Outpatient Services
Adena Greenfield Medical Center offers an array of outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services to aid in diagnosis and monitoring of health status and to help patients return to their lives quickly and conveniently.

Cardiopulmonary
Cardiopulmonary Services provides testing designed to help your physician diagnose and monitor treatment of heart disease. Tests available at Adena Greenfield Medical Center include stress tests, stress echocardiograms, Holter monitor, EKGs, PFTs and echocardiogram.
Women's Services
Adena Greenfield Medical Center provides several diagnostic tests designed especially for women.
Our Mammography Department provides both screening and diagnostic mammography. In addition to self-exam and clinical breast exams, Mammography is an important tool in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. Mammography exams are scheduled Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Osteoporosis is an important health issue, especially for women. We are pleased to provide the "gold standard" in osteoporosis detection - the Dexa Scan. This unit visits Adena Greenfield Medical Center twice per month, providing these important services to women of Greenfield and surrounding communities.
Obstetrical ultrasound services are also provided.
Diagnostic Imaging
There is a wide array of imaging services available to aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment. These include:
- Ultrasound: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Vascular Ultrasound: Monday and Wednesday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Nuclear Medicine: Wednesday 7 a.m. to noon
- Nuclear Cardio/Pulmonary Stress: Monday and Wednesday 6:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
- X-Ray/Radiology: Scheduled exams are performed Monday through Friday. Emergency and urgent services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- CT Scan: By appointment.
Laboratory Services
Laboratory Services plays an integral role in patients' diagnosis and recovery. Our Lab performs a broad range of diagnostic testing services, upon physician order. Scheduled services are provided Monday through Friday. Inpatient, emergency and urgent services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Medical Staff
Adena Greenfield Medical Center's medical staff includes primary care and specialty physicians. And, through our affiliation with Adena Health System, Greenfield is able to offer a wide array of subspecialists to meet the changing needs of our community.
