Thanks to our Patient Navigators, cancer patients at Adena can focus on getting better.
Our dedicated team of specially trained Patient Navigators are not only giving patients the care they need, but supporting them with peace of mind. A patient’s journey starts with diagnosis and continues through recovery and follow-up. Here at Adena, our Patient Navigators are with patients every step of the way.
Good communication between the patient and doctor is important to receiving the best quality care possible. Our Patient Navigators serve as a liaison between the patient and their doctor. This helps to ensure that good communication flow continues throughout a patients care.
The Patient Navigator team is staffed with registered nurses, each of whom specializes in a different type of cancer. Our Patient Navigators specialize in breast, lung, colorectal and head and neck cancers, but anyone diagnosed with any type of cancer will be provided with a navigator -- to help them throughout their journey.
Our Patient Navigators not only provide comfort and answer patients’ questions, but also take the burden from patients by scheduling appointments and procedures. Patient Navigators work with multiple departments to make sure patients receive the care they need as quickly and efficiently as possible. Patient Navigators also give patients a printed schedule of appointments, tests and procedures.
Our process ensures easier access and more timely care.
Adena’s Patient Navigators are available to answer questions and provide support, serving as teacher as well as counselor. Patient Navigators also work within the community providing outreach and education.
