Adena has more than 40 experienced surgeons on staff – dedicated to your health, safety and recovery.
The Adena Health System Surgery Department performs more than 10,000 inpatient, outpatient and same day surgical procedures each year. In fact, the Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe features 10 operating rooms in addition to pre- and post-operative recovery rooms.
Our skilled surgeons also perform procedures at Greenfield Medical Center, Pike Community Hospital, Adams County Regional Medical Center and Highland District Hospital. We offer procedures comprising the entire breadth of surgical sub-specialties, doing both open and laparoscopic procedures.

Before surgery you will undergo preoperative clearance where we carefully review your medical history, perform a thorough physical and order any necessary tests. These steps ensure that your surgery can be performed as safely as possible. When you arrive for your procedure, we will review all of the information for accuracy. As an added measure of safety and security, we will confirm your name and date of birth several times on the day of your procedure.
At the Adena Surgical Center, our main operating room is available 24 hours a day for urgent and emergency care. All elective procedures are scheduled during the week.
